Get Started

Connect with an Imported Key

Sign in with an SSH key that you already have, kept in the Keychain.

Use this when a server needs a key that you already have.

Add the Host

  1. Tap + on the host list. Fill in Address, User and, if it is not 22, Port.
  2. Set Sign in with to Imported key.
  3. Paste the private key in OpenSSH format, and its passphrase if it has one.
  4. Tap Save. pocketty checks the key before it saves the host, and keeps the key in the Keychain.

TIP

A device key is safer than an imported one: it is made in the Secure Enclave and cannot be copied off the phone. Use an imported key only when a server needs a key you already have.

Type to search keys, notifications, the CLI, and more.
