Files and Images
Send photos, screenshots and files to a host. pocketty uploads them and types their path, so an agent can read them.
Agents like Claude Code and Codex read images from a path. pocketty uploads a file to your host and types its path for you.
Send a File
- Show the keyboard, and tap Attach on the key row.
- Choose Photo Library, Take Photo or Choose File. You can pick up to five photos at once.
- pocketty uploads each file and types its path where the cursor is.
In text mode, the files sit inside your message as thumbnails. pocketty uploads them when you tap Send, and puts each path where the thumbnail was.
Paste an Image
Copy a screenshot or an image on the phone. Then tap Paste on the key row, or in the message bar. pocketty treats it like an attached photo. If iOS asks, tap Allow Paste, or stop the prompt.
Where Files Go
pocketty writes each file over SSH to:
~/.cache/pocketty/uploads/
If XDG_CACHE_HOME is set on the host, the folder is $XDG_CACHE_HOME/pocketty/uploads. The rules:
- Only your user can read the files.
- Images get names like
paste-3f2a91c4e07b5d26.png. Other files keep their name after a short prefix, like3f2a91c4e07b5d26-report.pdf. - Files older than seven days are deleted the next time you upload.
- One file can be up to 32 MB.
- pocketty knows PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP images. A pasted file must be one of these.
Ask an Agent about an Image
Put the path in your prompt. To send a screenshot and a prompt in one message, see Send a Screenshot to an Agent.
