Move to a New Phone

A new phone gets a new key. Add your hosts again, then remove the old phone.

Your device key lives in the Secure Enclave of one phone. It cannot be copied or restored from a backup. So a new phone, or a fresh install, needs to be added to each host again.

Steps

Install pocketty on the new phone. It makes a new device key on first launch.
Add each host again, with a code or the setup command.
Allow notifications. pocketty pairs with each daemon when it connects.
On each host, remove the old phone: its pairing and its key.

Imported Keys

If a host uses an imported key, paste the same key into the new phone. Imported keys stay in the Keychain of the phone where you added them.
